So, my fun little post yesterday has received some interesting comments. One, specifically, from an anonymous person who came across my blog upon a friend's recommendation. This person has decided that he/she knows all about me from reading a couple blogs for half an hour. Those who know me read the humor in my post, and responded the same way in a slew of emails yesterday.
So, listen up Mr./Mrs. Unwanted Anonymous Responder To My Blog, I don't mind if you read my blog and post responses. I do mind, however, that you think it's ok to barge into my life with your negativity, acting as if you knew where I'm coming from and where I'm going and don't even have the cojones to leave your name.
I never accused anyone of being a "greedy workaholic". I merely stated my opinion of a severely long workday beginning before dawn because it's not the life choice I'd make. As far as living an "idyllic life of leisure", you're partly correct. I do live a wonderful life; one which I've built quite happily for myself. I'm surrounded by fun, happy people. I work 6 days a week doing what I love, pay my bills like a "responsible grown up" and still have time to take a walk, play a game or enjoy a bubble bath. Does loving my job and having the time to enjoy life's pleasures make me such a horrible person? Yikes.
Perhaps you are just playing devil's advocate, or perhaps you are one of those who listens to books on tape (in which case, kudos to you. I don't have the patience). Perhaps, still, you're one of those unhappy people I was talking about. Whatever your story is, I don't venture to judge you as you have judged me because I recognize that I have no idea who you are, just as you don't know me.
I think if you go back and read over what I said, you'll find the humor and hear the tongue-in-cheek tone with which I wrote. If not, then perhaps you would do well to not read about my fun-beyond-your-scope life. Clearly it bothers you :o)

Very nicely said (written). My first response was to defend what you had written and how it was written, but I found Your choice of words were better than I would have given the slime dog or dogget. To interpret anything from this type of forum, anything other than what it says is ridiculous and absurd. I see your fine higher education has proven it's worth. Cudo's to you Michelle!
Your Loving Father!!!
p.s. if the person that wrote wishes to respond, you may at usmcguru@gmail.com and remember I have the right to delete you.
well said. Some people get lost in the larger world of simple thought, idea, and discussion. It's a shame they can't see words for what they are, but color the input with their own emotions, and respond in kind. Too sad.
I'm glad the rest of your friends are willing to take the high road. I on the other hand am pissed that I'm the only one in the mud! What has happened to use as Americans when we aren't willing to sling mud when some one disagrees with us? Honestly? Were is our sense of pride. With this "being the better person" we're destine to be nothing but compassionate dweebs! let's remember who we are and why everyone hates us, we're Americans!
ps: for any random people that end up seeing this becaus of their friend recommendation, this is another example of tongue-in-cheek humor.
Michelle, I'm very impressed with your reply.
As a former mega-commuter, I understand the necessity of it as well as the pure soul-sucking side effects. For a long time, it was a means to an end for me. Now, I'm taking the opportunity to try and pursue acting full time, like you are. So, I am an experienced viewer from both sides of the fence. And now I can honestly say that I much prefer being able to enjoy the day not knowing what the next will bring, not knowing if I will succeed in this crazy town along with the other 3 million just like me. I still have to commute from time to time, but instead of sitting in a 4x4 fuzzy gray cell permanently attached to a phone, I get to experience a new destination and adventure each time. And trust me, it is far from glamorous. Some would call what I do now hell. And they are perfectly welcome to do so.
In all of our lives, we work hard to make a niche for ourselves. We do things we don't necessarily want to, but find that we make sacrifices to make our dreams come true.
I think my main point really is this: it's sad that someone thinks that the only way to be responsible in their life is to suffer day in and day out. That the only definition of success and being a responsible young adult is to deny simple pleasures that this earth has to give is a sad commentary on America's work ethic. Especially since we are quickly losing our place in global productivity in so many areas. Do a basic Google search to get the facts.
Thanks for your observations, cuz!!
Eeeuuwwww that ‘blog-booger’ threw some objectionable snot!!!
Definitely need to form ‘sneeze (snot) guards’ over your personal blog buffet’s. You never know when those nasty, annoying ‘blog-boogers’ are going to spit their verbal contaminates...
It's who-u-no... :)
